The Genie Bowl

The Genie bowl. This bowl, also know as a hollow form, is made from figured maple with a turned maple lid. A hollow form is created by shaping the interior of the bowl through a narrow hole. Due to the narrow opening, the turner has to hollow the form blindly, simply by feel for the wood.
