Ikebana

Made of locally sourced Cherry, also known as the Japanese flowering cherry, this highly figured hollow form has crushed mineral inlay and finished to a high gloss. The vase has metal “frogs” for Ikebana, also known as kadō, the Japanese art of flower arrangement to convey emotion. Note that a hollow form is created by shaping the interior of the bowl through a narrow hole, blindly and without direct view, simply by feel for the wood.
