Come enjoy the art of needle felting local wool to make an adorable October Owl.
About the Instructor:
Kristi and her husband Dave, a retired US Marine, own and operate Fidelis Fields Farm in Siler City, NC. Among other enterprises, Kristi raises Southdown Babydoll Sheep and processes their wool each year herself on the farm. The wool has high durability due to its springy nature and is well suited for needle felting, spinning into yarn for outerwear, and using in practical applications like dryer balls and wool pellets. Kristi works in the Chatham County Schools as a substitute teacher and often collaborates with art teachers in the schools as a guest instructor. Kristi serves on the Board of Directors for the Piedmont Fibershed and for the North Carolina Sheep Producers Association. She will be a featured guest artist at the Saxapawhaw River Collective this year during October, November, and December.
