Julia’s leather crafting career began right here in Saxapahaw in 2011 very unexpectedly as a form of therapy after her father passed suddenly. After self learning the craft and growing her business she then took it on the road in an old RV, eventually setting up shop in Taos, NM for several years until her son was born. Eventually she made her way back home to NC and set up her studio for 4 years in downtown Siler City. Through her passion for design, working with her hands, and stubborn tenacity she has grown Milestone to international acclaim with her designs found in stores in all 50 states and 4 other countries. In 2023 she started offering intimate leather workshops and will continue to grow her business and teach others the power of working with their hands within Riverside Collective. She is thrilled to be back in the village where it all began!
